Hungry Hamsters - The Mission

The HH are a band of adventurous rodents who have dedicated their lives to helping animals in peril and rescuing those less fortunate than themselves.  An admirable cause but, due to their sheer incompetence, it is the Hamsters themselves that need rescuing, usually by TATLER, one of their own team.  They are a modern-day commando unit; the trouble is, they're not so much SAS as SOS, for as well as dealing with the inherent dangers of each mission, the HH also have to combat their own self-inflicted problems - each Hamster has its own skills but also has its deficiencies which when out together into a team causes mayhem. 

The Hungry Hamsters each used to live in a different region of London with a its human owner/s and their characters were moulded by their individual environments.  There they were, in their cages, giving the appearance of 'doing their own thing' but in fact they understood every word said by the humans around them.  Like hairy Clark Kents, their mild exteriors masked alter-egos and when the chance came to become hamsters-of-action these far-from-ordinary rodents sprang into action and joined the HH.  Now they live in the catacombs of cellars underneath a mansion in Hampstead (where else?) and whizz down an intricate series of hidden tubes to gather in HH HQ  to be briefed on their next death-defying adventure, which could be anywhere in the world.  Then, they don their uniforms and head out on the mission.
